Ishigaki Yaima Village, located on a hill overlooking the scenic Nagura Bay on Ishigaki Island, is Japan's southernmost theme park. It is set amid rich natural surroundings and recreates the traditional streetscape of the good old Yaeyama. From the red-tiled traditional houses, which are registered as Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan, you can hear the sound of the sanshin. The park also offers a variety of hands-on activities, including trying on Ryukyu costumes and painting Shisa statues.
